Dental Implants
Dental implants surgery is a procedure that uses a titanium/zirconia screw post to replace missing or damaged teeth. It is inserted into the jaw bone and, where they serve as the teeth roots. Once fitted, the bone surrounding the implant will gradually fuse to it and, over time the implant stays firm to the jaws. This process is called osseointegration, which takes weeks or up to several months. The properties of titanium/zirconia support osseointegration, which is the common material for implants.
After the implant is set, an abutment (connector) and prosthesis (crown) will be placed on top forming a resemblance of a healthy-looking tooth.
